Dave Thomas is the Executive Director of the Chicago MBOC. He joined to the MBOC in June of 2008 after two years as the Senior Supplier Diversity Administrator at Nicor Gas, a northern Illinois natural gas utility. In that role he helped Nicor reach unprecedented levels of supplier diversity performance which culminated in him winning the CMSDC Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee's (MBEIC) "Supplier Diversity Manager of the Year” award. Prior to that, Thomas was the Supplier Diversity Manager for an alliance partnership between BP Oil Co. and Bovis Lend Lease, one of the world’s largest construction management companies. Thomas is a native of Chicago who attended Roosevelt University where he received a Bachelor of General Studies degree in Sociology and a Master of Science degree in Journalism.
Gwen Jones is the Chicago MBOC’s Strategic Business to Business Specialist. She has an acute knowledge of MBDA operations having spent three years as Procurement Analyst for the Chicago Minority Business Enterprise Center prior to coming to the MBOC. Ms. Jones has a long history of working in business development for several large MBE companies, and has also worked in procurement and supplier diversity for large companies such as The Reliable Corporation and BT Office Products. At the MBOC Ms. Jones is responsible for brokering business relationships between highly qualified MBEs and government and corporate sector buying organizations.
Michele Sutton comes to the Chicago MBOC having spent the previous year as Business Matchmaking Specialist at the Gary MBOC in Gary, IN. Ms. Sutton, who is from Gary, is a graduate of Ball State University where she earned a degree in Human Resources Management. In her new role she will manage client services programs such as matchmaking events and will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the MBDA's reporting system.
